How to Restore a Backup on Your Abiotic Factor Server

If something goes wrong on your server, you can roll back to a previous state by restoring one of the automatic backups Host Havoc creates for your service. The process takes only a few steps in the Game Control Panel.

Before restoring, stop your server to prevent any file conflicts. If you want to save your current state first, download your files via FTP (see Connect with an FTP Client).

Restore a backup

  1. Log in to the Game Control Panel.
  2. Navigate to your server.
  3. Stop the server.
  4. Click the Restore Backup icon in your server's control panel.
  5. Select a backup from the dropdown menu.
  6. Click Run.

The server will restore the selected backup. Start the server once the process completes.

Troubleshooting

  • If no backups appear in the dropdown, contact Host Havoc support to confirm backups are enabled for your service.
  • If you need to recover specific files rather than a full rollback, use our guide on uploading save data to replace only the save folder.
