How to Connect to Your Abiotic Factor Server with an FTP Client

An FTP client lets you transfer files directly between your PC and your Abiotic Factor server. Host Havoc recommends FileZilla, which you can download from filezilla-project.org.

Once connected, you can upload save data (see Upload Save Data) or download files before a reinstall.

Connect with FileZilla

  1. Log in to the Game Control Panel and navigate to your server.
  2. Find the FTP Info section near the middle of the screen. Copy the FTP address, which looks similar to 167.114.172.201:8821.
  3. Paste the address into the Host field in FileZilla.

  4. Enter your Game Control Panel username and password into the Username and Password fields.

  5. The port will adjust automatically when you paste the full host:port string.
  6. Click Quickconnect.

Before you start: If the panel shows SFTP Info instead of FTP Info, prefix the address with sftp:// before pasting it into the Host field. For example: sftp://167.114.172.201:8821.

Troubleshooting

  • If the connection is refused, confirm the server is running and that you copied the full address including the port.
  • If your password is incorrect, reset it from within the Game Control Panel.
  • SFTP and FTP use different protocols. If you see a connection error, check whether the panel shows FTP Info or SFTP Info and adjust the prefix accordingly.
