About Abiotic Factor: co-op survival in a 90s sci-fi research facility
Abiotic Factor is a survival crafting game from Deep Field Games, published by Playstack. You play as scientists trapped in an underground GATE research facility after an experiment goes wrong, scavenging parts, crafting gear, and fighting off the creatures and anomalies that break loose. The game left Early Access with its 1.0 release in July 2025. A dedicated server keeps your facility running when the host logs off, so anyone in the group can jump back in and pick up where the team left off.
Steam, Xbox, and PS5 crossplay
Abiotic Factor supports crossplay between Steam, Xbox, and PS5, and a dedicated server can host all three. Console players join by searching for the server's name in the in-game server browser, so pick a name your group can find. Admins unlock admin tools in game with the server's admin password on any platform.
Persistent worlds, sandbox settings, and save transfers
Your world lives on the server and keeps its progress between sessions. Sandbox settings let you tune the rules for each world, such as difficulty and death penalties. Started a world on a Steam player's PC? Upload that save to the server and continue it there. Xbox, PS5, and Game Pass saves cannot be moved to a dedicated server.

The manual way: self-hosting
The official Abiotic Factor dedicated server from Deep Field Games runs on Windows only. Linux works only through an unsupported Wine workaround. It needs a machine that stays on 24/7 and leans on single-core CPU speed rather than RAM, so plan for 4 fast cores and 4 to 8 GB of RAM for a group of up to 6. No GPU needed.
