How to Set Up Automatic Restarts for Your Over the Top: WW1 Server

Updated 10 June 2026 · By Host Havoc Technical Support Team

Automatic restarts keep your Over the Top: WW1 server running smoothly by clearing memory and applying any pending updates on a regular schedule. You configure them through the Scheduled Tasks feature in the Game Panel. If you need to perform a full reset rather than a restart, see the reinstall guide.

Create a scheduled restart

  1. Log in to the Game Control Panel and navigate to your server.
  2. Click the Scheduled Tasks icon on the left-hand side.
  3. Click New at the top of the section, choose Scheduled Start/Stop/Restart, then click New directly below that section.
  4. Give the task a name so you can identify it quickly, and make sure the Enabled box is checked.
  5. Set the type to Daily to run the restart at the same time each day.
  6. Set the start date and time. This is the time the restart will occur every day. To align this with your local time zone, check the time zone article linked in the Game Panel.
  7. Click Save.

Repeat every few hours

If you want the server to restart multiple times per day (for example, every 6 hours), enable the Repeat Task option and configure the interval in the Advanced Options section.

Troubleshooting

  • Task not triggering: Confirm the Enabled checkbox is checked and the start time is set correctly for your time zone.
  • Server restarts at the wrong time: Review the time zone setting in the Game Panel and adjust the scheduled time accordingly.
