How to Set Up Automatic Restarts for Your Server

Scheduling automatic restarts keeps your server stable and lets you apply updates on a regular cycle without manual intervention. This guide covers creating a scheduled restart task in the Game Control Panel.

Create a scheduled restart

1. Log into the Game Control Panel and navigate to your server.
2. Click the Scheduled Tasks icon on the left-hand side.
3. Click New at the top of the section, choose Scheduled Start/Stop/Restart, then click New below that section.
4. Give the task a name that lets you identify it quickly, and make sure the Enabled box is checked.
5. For the type, choose Daily if you want the restart to occur at the same time each day.
6. Set the start date and time. This is the time the task runs every day. To confirm the time reflects your local timezone, refer to the timezone article in the control panel documentation.
7. Click Save.

Before you start: Advanced options including action type and a setting to wait until the server is empty before restarting are available in the Advanced Options section.

Repeating restarts within a day

To restart every 6 hours in a 24-hour period, check the Repeat Task option when configuring the task and set the repeat interval to 6 hours. The task will then fire at the start time and again at each interval throughout the day.
