How to Join Your Valheim Server

Connect to your Valheim server in two ways: by adding it to Steam Favorites using the Query Info, or by entering the connection IP directly from within the game.

Join via Steam Favorites

  1. Open Steam.
  2. Click View in the top-left menu bar.
  3. Click Servers, then navigate to the Favorites tab.
  4. Click Add Server to Favorites.
  5. Enter your server's Query Info from the Host Havoc control panel.
  6. Click Find Games at this Address, then Add Selected Game Server to Favorites.
  7. Click the Refresh button in the Steam server browser.
  8. Click your server in the Favorites list and join.

Before you start: Use the Query Info value, not the Connection Info, when adding to Steam Favorites. If you previously added the server using Connection Info, remove it first and re-add it with Query Info.

Join from within the game

  1. Open Valheim.
  2. Click Start Game.
  3. Select your character and press Start.
  4. Click the Join Game tab at the top.
  5. Click Join IP and enter the address shown under Connection Info in your control panel.

Troubleshooting

If your server does not appear in the Favorites list after refreshing, confirm you used the Query Info (not the Connection Info) when adding it. If you used Connection Info, remove the entry and re-add it with the correct Query Info value.
