Updated 10 June 2026 · By Host Havoc Technical Support Team

This guide walks you through basic configuration and joining your Conan Exiles server hosted by Host Havoc. Before you connect, you will want to set your server name and optional password in Configuration Files.

Before You Start

Make sure your server is stopped before editing configuration files. Start it again after saving your changes.

Set Your Server Name and Password

  1. Log into the Game Control Panel and navigate to your server.
  2. Stop the server.
  3. Click the Configuration Files section and open the Config Editor for Engine.ini.
  4. Enter your desired server name in the server name field.
  5. Enter a password if you want one, or leave the field blank for a public server.
  6. Save and start the server.

Add the Server to Steam Favorites

  1. Open your Steam client.
  2. Click View in the top menu bar.
  3. Click Servers and go to the Favorites tab.
  4. Click Add a Server and enter your server's IP address and query port (for example, 167.114.172.201:27015).
  5. Click Add this address to favorites.
  6. Click Refresh to load the server.
  7. Double-click the server entry to connect.

Troubleshooting

  • Server not appearing: Confirm you are using the query port, not the game port. The query port is shown in your control panel.
  • Wrong password error: Double-check the password you set in Engine.ini and ensure the server has fully restarted after the change.
  • Server shows as offline: Wait 2-3 minutes after starting the server before refreshing Steam Favorites.
