About The Front: Open-world survival with base raids and vehicle combat
The Front is an open-world survival crafting game from Samar Studio. You play a resistance fighter sent back in time to stop a tyrannical empire: gather resources, craft weapons, and build bases with traps and wired logic such as pressure plates and infrared sensors. More than 20 vehicle types, from pickup trucks to attack helicopters, take the fight across the map, against monster camps, enemy factions, and rival players. A dedicated server keeps that world running 24/7, so bases, vehicles, and progress persist whether or not anyone is online.
PvP or PvE, on your rules
Server rules live in ServerConfig_.ini. Switch between PvP and PvE, set a password for a private group, toggle self and friendly damage, and tune XP, gathering, and crop growth multipliers. Admins are added by Steam64 ID, and the autosave interval is yours to set. Changes apply after a restart from the control panel.

The manual way: self-hosting
The Front's dedicated server is a free Windows tool, with a separate Linux build under Steam App ID 2334200. It needs a machine that stays on 24/7: plan for 4 fast cores and 6 to 8 GB of RAM. No GPU needed.
- Download the server with SteamCMD using the anonymous login and Steam App ID

ServerConfig_.iniinside aTheFrontManagerfolder. Under[BaseServerConfig], setServerName,ServerPassword,ServerAdminAccounts(Steam64 IDs), andQueueThresholdfor the player cap. - Write a launch script for
TheFrontServer.exewithProjectWar_Start?DedicatedServer, your public IP in-OutIPAddress, and four sequential ports:-port,-BeaconPort,-QueryPort, and-ShutDownServicePort. - Forward all four ports over UDP on your router and Windows Firewall, or players will fail to connect.
- Keep it running as a Windows service, and restart it after every config change: settings are not reloaded live.
After that it is on you: patching on every update (clients cannot join on a version mismatch), backing up world saves, restarting after crashes, and absorbing DDoS yourself.
