How to Set Up Automatic Restarts on Your Wreckfest 2 Server

Keep your Wreckfest 2 server running smoothly by scheduling automatic restarts through the Scheduled Tasks feature in the Game Control Panel. Restarts help clear memory and apply any pending updates. Before setting this up, ensure your server is running and you can join your server to verify it comes back online after a restart.

Create a scheduled restart

  1. Log into the Game Control Panel and navigate to your server.
  2. Click the Scheduled Tasks icon in the left-hand menu.
  3. Click New at the top of the section and choose Scheduled Start/Stop/Restart, then click New directly below that section.
  4. Give the task a descriptive name so you can identify it later.
  5. Ensure the Enabled checkbox is checked.
  6. Set Type to Daily to restart at the same time each day.
  7. Set the start date and time. The time is based on the server's time zone. To verify your local time zone offset, refer to the time zone article linked in your panel.
  8. Click Save.

Repeat every few hours

To restart multiple times per day (for example, every 6 hours), enable the Repeat Task option in the Advanced Options section and configure the repeat interval. Set the initial time and the repeat frequency within the same 24-hour window.

Additional advanced options such as action type and waiting until the server is empty before restarting are available in the Advanced Options section.

For any server file changes between restarts, use FTP or the Config Editor to make edits while the server is stopped.
