How to Create a Session and Connect to Your StarRupture Server

Connecting to your StarRupture server requires two steps: creating a session through the in-game Manage Server menu, and then joining that session via JOIN GAME. Before you begin, log in to your Game Control Panel and confirm your server is running. Keep the Connection Info values on hand.

Create a session

  1. Open StarRupture and click Manage Server from the main menu.

  2. Copy the IP address shown under Connection Info in your game panel and paste it into the IP field.

  3. Enter a password. Record this password because it is required to load or start sessions later.

  4. Choose to create a new game or load an existing one. You can also set a server password at this stage.

  5. If this is your first launch, click NEW GAME, enter a session name, and click START GAME. A pop-up confirms the session has started after a short wait.

Connect to your session

  1. From the main menu, click JOIN GAME.

  2. Click DEDICATED SERVER.

  3. Enter the IP and port from Connection Info in your game panel, enter the password if you set one, and click Confirm.

Troubleshooting

  • Cannot connect: Confirm the server is running in the game panel and that you are using the exact IP and port listed under Connection Info, including the port number.
  • Session password rejected: Passwords are case-sensitive. Re-enter exactly as you set it during session creation.
  • Session not starting: Wait up to 60 seconds after clicking START GAME before retrying. If the issue persists, try reinstalling your server.
