How to Set Up Automatic Restarts on Your StarRupture Server

Updated June 10, 2026 · By Host Havoc Technical Support Team

Automatic restarts keep your StarRupture server running smoothly by clearing memory and applying any pending updates on a regular schedule. You configure them through the Scheduled Tasks section of the Game Control Panel.

Set up a scheduled restart

  1. Log in to the Game Control Panel and navigate to your server.
  2. Click the Scheduled Tasks icon on the left-hand side.
  3. Click New at the top of the section, choose Scheduled Start/Stop/Restart, then click New directly below that section.
  4. Give the task a name that helps you identify it quickly, and make sure the Enabled box is checked.
  5. For the type, choose Daily if you want the restart to occur at the same time each day.
  6. Set the start date and time. This is the time the restart will occur every day. To confirm the time is correct for your time zone, check the game panel's time zone settings.
  7. Click Save.

Before you start: Advanced options such as action type and waiting until the server is empty are available under the Advanced Options section of the task.

Repeat every few hours

If you want the server to restart every 6 hours throughout the day, check Repeat Task and set the repeat interval to 6 hours. This causes the task to trigger multiple times within the same 24-hour window rather than just once.

Troubleshooting

  • Task not triggering: Verify the Enabled box is checked and that the start time has not already passed for today. Re-save the task to refresh it.
  • Restart happening at the wrong time: Confirm your game panel time zone matches your local time zone in the panel settings.
  • Server not coming back online after restart: Check the server console for errors. If the server fails to start automatically, refer to reinstalling your server if the issue persists.
