How to Restore a Backup on Your Space Engineers Server

If something goes wrong with your world, you can roll your Space Engineers server back to a previous save. Two methods are available depending on the type of backup you want to restore.

Before restoring, stop your server. If you want to keep your current world files, consider downloading them via FTP first.

Method 1: World Backup Restore

This method restores backup files created by the game itself.

  1. Log in to the Game Control Panel and navigate to your server.
  2. Stop your server.
  3. Click the ...More button in the server control panel.
  4. Click the World Backup Restore script.
  5. Select a backup folder from the dropdown list.
  6. Click Run.

This copies all files from the selected backup folder and replaces your current world files with them.

Method 2: Control Panel Backup Restore

This method restores a backup created by the control panel.

  1. Log in to the Game Control Panel.
  2. Navigate to your Space Engineers server.
  3. Stop your server.
  4. Click the Restore Backup icon in the server control panel.
  5. Select a backup from the dropdown menu.
  6. Click Run.
