How to Reinstall Your SCUM Server

Published June 9, 2026 · By Host Havoc Technical Support Team

Reinstalling your SCUM server wipes all current server files and installs a clean copy, returning everything to the state it was in when you first set up the server. Use this when your server is corrupted, broken, or you want a fresh start.

Before you start: Reinstalling deletes all server files except backups. Download any configuration files, save data, or custom content you want to keep before proceeding. You can access your files via FTP.

Reinstall your server

  1. Log in to the Game Control Panel and navigate to your SCUM server.
  2. Stop your server.
  3. Click the More button.
Game panel More button highlighted in the server management toolbar
  4. Click Reinstall.
Reinstall option shown in the More menu dropdown
  5. On the confirmation screen, click the Reinstall button. Keep Default values selected unless you have a specific reason to change it.

The panel will begin deleting your existing files, downloading a fresh copy of the SCUM server files, and installing a default configuration. This process can take several minutes depending on file size.

Once complete, your server will be ready to start with a clean default setup.

Troubleshooting

  • If the reinstall process appears to stall, wait a few extra minutes before refreshing the panel. Large game files take time to download.
  • If your server fails to start after reinstalling, try connecting to your server and confirm the server shows Running before trying to join.
  • For further assistance, submit a support ticket from your Host Havoc billing panel.
