How to Connect to Your SCUM Server

Updated June 10, 2026 · By Host Havoc Technical Support Team

Connecting to your SCUM server requires one small detail: SCUM uses a port offset, so the connection port is always 2 higher than the port shown in your game panel. Once you know that, joining is straightforward.

You can also check how to set up automatic restarts to keep your server running on a schedule.

Find your connection information

  1. Log in to the Game Control Panel and navigate to your SCUM server.
  2. On the main server dashboard, locate the Connection Info section. It shows your IP Address and the configured Port.
  3. Add 2 to that port number. That is the port players will use to connect.

Example: If your panel shows 192.168.1.100:7000, players connect to 192.168.1.100:7002.

This is the most reliable way to join your server.

  1. Launch SCUM from your Steam library.
  2. From the main menu, click Multiplay.
  3. In the IP input box on the left side, enter your server IP and the connection port (configured port + 2):
    <IP>:<PORT+2>

  4. Press Enter to connect.

Method 2: In-game server browser

You can also search for your server by name, though the browser can be slower to update for new or low-population servers.

  1. Launch SCUM from your Steam library.
  2. Click Play from the main menu, then select Multiplayer.
  3. Search for your server by name. If your server is password-protected, have the password ready.
  4. Select your server and click Join.

Before you start: If your server does not appear in the browser immediately, use Method 1 (direct connect) instead. New servers may take a few minutes to appear in the list.

Troubleshooting

  • Confirm your server shows as Running in the Host Havoc game panel before trying to connect.
  • Double-check that you are adding 2 to the configured port, not using the panel port directly.
  • If problems persist, contact Host Havoc support.
