A valid owner ID is required before your RuneScape: Dragonwilds server will allow you to connect as the owner. This guide walks you through locating your Player ID in-game and pasting it into the server config.

Before you start: Stop your server in the Game Control Panel before editing config files.

Edit the config file

  1. Log in to your Game Control Panel and navigate to your server.
  2. Stop your server if it is running.
  3. Click Configuration Files in the left-hand panel.
  4. Open DedicatedServer.ini in either the Text Editor or Config Editor.
  5. Locate the OwnerID line. Leave this tab open while you retrieve your ID in the next section.

Find your Player ID in-game

  1. Launch RuneScape: Dragonwilds and reach the main menu.
  2. Click Settings in the main menu.
RuneScape Dragonwilds Settings menu option on the main screen
  3. In the Settings screen, look at the bottom-left corner for My Player ID.
  4. Click the copy icon next to your Player ID.

Save the config

  1. Return to your server config tab and paste your Player ID into the OwnerID field.
  2. Save the file.
  3. Start your server.

Your account is now the designated owner of the server. If you need to transfer ownership later, repeat these steps with a different Player ID.

Troubleshooting

  • Settings screen does not show My Player ID: Make sure your game client is up to date.
  • Changes not applied after restart: Confirm you saved the config file before starting the server, and that no other config file is overriding the value.
