How to Set Up Automatic Restarts for Your Dragonwilds Server
Automatic restarts help keep your RuneScape: Dragonwilds server stable and up to date by restarting it on a fixed schedule. The game panel's Scheduled Tasks feature handles this without any external tools.
Before scheduling restarts, make sure your server is running correctly. If you need to reset the server first, see Reinstall Your Server.
Create a scheduled restart task
- Log in to the Game Control Panel and navigate to your server.
- Click Scheduled Tasks in the left-hand sidebar.
- Click New at the top of the section, then choose Scheduled Start/Stop/Restart, and click New again directly below that section.
- Give the task a descriptive name so you can identify it later, and check the Enabled box.
- Set the type to Daily to restart at the same time each day.
- Set the start date and time. This is the time the task will run every day. To align the time with your local timezone, check the panel timezone settings article.
- Click Save.
Set a repeating interval
If you want the server to restart more than once per day (for example, every 6 hours), check the Repeat Task option and configure the interval in the Advance Options section. Additional advanced options, such as waiting until the server is empty before restarting, are also available there.
Troubleshooting
- Task not triggering: Confirm the Enabled checkbox is checked and the start time has not already passed for today.
- Server restarts at wrong time: The panel may be set to a different timezone than you expect. Check the timezone setting in your panel account preferences.
