How to Create and Restore Backups on Your Dragonwilds Server

Host Havoc automatically attempts a backup of your RuneScape: Dragonwilds server every night at 2:45 AM. Backups contain save data and settings files. This guide covers creating manual backups, restoring them, and working with downloaded backup archives.

Create a backup

  1. Log in to the Game Control Panel and navigate to your server.
  2. Click Create Backup in the server control panel.

Backups are stored in the Backups folder on the server. You cannot upload files directly to this folder.

Restore a backup

  1. Log in to the Game Control Panel and navigate to your server.
  2. Stop your server.
  3. Click Restore Backup.
  4. Select a backup from the dropdown list.
  5. Click Run.

Restore a downloaded backup zip

If you previously downloaded a backup zip via File Manager or FTP and need to re-upload it:

  1. Use an FTP client to upload the zip file to the root directory of your server.
  2. Open File Manager in the control panel.
  3. Right-click the zip file and select Extract. Extraction may take a few minutes depending on the archive size.

Troubleshooting

  • Cannot upload to the Backups folder: This folder is write-protected. Upload zip files to the root directory and extract from there instead.
  • Backup not appearing in the dropdown: Automatic backups run nightly; if no backup has run yet, create a manual one first.
