How to Set Up Automatic Restarts for Your Romestead Server

Updated June 10, 2026 · By Host Havoc Technical Support Team

Scheduling automatic restarts helps keep your Romestead server stable and clears any accumulated memory issues without manual intervention. The Host Havoc Game Panel includes a built-in task scheduler for this purpose.

Create a scheduled restart task

  1. Log in to the Game Control Panel and navigate to your server.
  2. Click the Scheduled Tasks icon on the left-hand side.
  3. Click New at the top of the section and choose Scheduled Start/Stop/Restart, then click New directly below that section.
  4. Give the task a descriptive name so you can identify it later. Make sure the Enabled checkbox is checked.
  5. Set the type to Daily to restart at the same time each day.
  6. Set the start date and time. This is the time the task will run every day. To ensure the time reflects your local timezone, refer to the Game Panel timezone article.
  7. Optional: expand the Advance Options section to configure the action type or to wait until the server is empty before restarting.
  8. Click Save.

Repeat the restart every few hours

If you want the server to restart multiple times per day (for example, every 6 hours), check the Repeat Task option and set the repeat interval. The panel will automatically calculate the remaining occurrences within the 24-hour window.

Troubleshooting

  • Task not running: Confirm the Enabled checkbox is checked and that the start time has not already passed for today.
  • Wrong restart time: Verify your panel timezone setting matches your local timezone.
  • Server files appear corrupted after restart: Consider reinstalling your server to restore a clean state, or restore a backup from before the issue started.
