High-performance Romestead servers with instant setup for vanilla survival, custom difficulty tweaks, and persistent worlds. NVMe SSD storage with 24/7 uptime.
We host all of our Romestead servers on our modified TCAdmin v2 platform. This proven, powerful control suite offers the best in server management capability.

Romestead is an immersive multiplayer survival town-builder set in a post-apocalyptic Roman world where players band together to rebuild civilization amid ruins and undead threats. Combining action-adventure survival, base building, and strategic combat, Romestead challenges players to gather resources, manage citizens, and defend their settlements from hordes of zombies and monsters. With support for co-op gameplay for up to 16 players, Romestead thrives when friends join forces in a persistent shared world, each choosing their own Roman god to gain unique buffs and shape their playstyle.
The game’s world is procedurally generated, featuring diverse biomes filled with handcrafted points of interest, dungeons, and valuable resources. Players move seamlessly between exploration, crafting, and combat, all while managing physical resource logistics like hauling lumber and stone. Romestead’s dynamic difficulty scales with player count, making reliable multiplayer hosting essential to maintain smooth gameplay during intense battles and large settlement simulations.
To fully experience Romestead’s sprawling Roman settlements and challenging survival gameplay, you need more than just a typical connection. Renting a dedicated Romestead server from us provides a stable, 24/7 online environment independent of any player’s PC, eliminating the lag and downtime common in peer-to-peer hosting. Dedicated hosting ensures your world persists, allowing your team to log in anytime to build, explore, and fight, even when the host is offline.
Our infrastructure is optimized specifically for Romestead server hosting, featuring enterprise-grade hardware that meets and exceeds the demands of this complex survival title:
- High-Clock Speed CPUs: 4.0GHz+ cores to handle procedural world generation, AI pathfinding, and combat simulation without lag.
- NVMe SSD Storage: Fast storage to support seamless asset streaming, frequent save writes, and quick backups as your settlement grows.
- Scalable Memory: Starting at 8GB RAM for small groups and scaling to 16GB or more for full 16-player servers with large persistent worlds.
- High-Capacity Uplink: 1 Gbps+ network connectivity with enterprise-grade DDoS protection to keep your server accessible and secure around the clock.
With global server locations available, your friends can connect from the closest data center, minimizing latency and ensuring responsive gameplay. Our dedicated Romestead servers provide full control over your multiplayer world, eliminating the “host-tether” limitations and performance bottlenecks of self-hosting on personal machines.
We empower you with full control over your Romestead server through an intuitive control panel designed for both new and experienced admins. Manage server settings such as difficulty, player limits, and god system buffs with ease. Full file access and FTP support allows you to upload mods (when mod support is added to the game), edit configuration files like the essential config.json, and manage world saves directly. Automatic backups with up to 30 days retention protect your progress against data loss, while one-click updates keep your server in sync with the latest Early Access patches via SteamCMD.
For those who prefer self-hosting, the Romestead dedicated server supports both Windows and Linux platforms, with recommended specs including a quad-core CPU, 16GB RAM, and NVMe SSD storage. Port forwarding of UDP port 8050 is required for connectivity, but choosing our managed hosting removes this complexity and provides instant setup with expert support.
Whether you’re rebuilding the empire solo or leading a full crew of 16 players, our Romestead server hosting delivers the performance, stability, and control you need to thrive in this unique survival experience.
config.json.Backups, DDoS protection, and 24/7 support included.
Romestead's official dedicated server from Beartwigs is a cross-platform .NET 8 tool. It needs a Windows or Linux box that stays on 24/7, and it is CPU-bound rather than RAM-hungry, so plan for 2 to 4 fast cores and 4 to 12 GB of RAM. No GPU needed.

config.json. The server writes a default on first launch. Set your world name, password, Port (default UDP 8050), and MaxPlayers.8050 on your router and firewall so players can connect. After that it is on you: patching on every Beartwigs update, scheduling world-save backups, restarting after crashes, and absorbing DDoS yourself.
