How to Manually Install Mods on Your PixARK Server

Updated June 10, 2026 · By Host Havoc Technical Support Team

PixARK mods are distributed through Steam Workshop. Because mods must be unpacked by the local client before they can be used on a server, the process involves your own PC and then an FTP upload.

Install mods manually

  1. Open Steam and navigate to the PixARK Workshop. Find a mod you want to use and click Subscribe.
  2. Note the numeric mod ID at the end of the Workshop page URL. If the URL is not visible, enable it in your Steam settings.
  3. Launch PixARK on your local machine. A message appears in the bottom-right corner of the main menu while the subscribed mods are being installed. Wait until installation is complete before closing the game.
  4. On your local machine, open the PixARK mods folder. The default path is:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\PixARK\ShooterGame\Content\Mods

  5. For each mod, you will find a folder and a .mod file sharing the mod's numeric ID. You need to upload both.
  6. Connect to your server using an FTP client such as FileZilla.
  7. On the server, navigate to ShooterGame/Content/Mods. Create this folder if it does not exist.
  8. Upload both the mod folder and the .mod file for each mod you want to use.
  9. Restart the server.

Before you start: Repeat steps 1 through 8 for each mod. If a mod updates on the Workshop, you will need to re-subscribe or let the local client download the update, then re-upload the updated files.
