Custom scenarios let you run community-made game modes and content on your Empyrion server. You can install them using the built-in Scenario Downloader in the control panel (recommended) or by uploading the files manually via FTP.

  1. Log in to the Game Control Panel and navigate to your server.
  2. Click Stop to stop the server.
  3. Click the Scenario Downloader icon.
  4. Enter the Workshop ID of the scenario you want to install.
  5. Click Run and wait for the download to complete.
  6. Click the Configuration Files icon.
  7. Click Config Editor next to dedicated_config.yaml.
  8. Find the Custom Scenario option and set it to the scenario name.
  9. If you are switching to a new scenario, update the Save Game Name setting to start a fresh save.
  10. Save the changes to dedicated_config.yaml.
  11. Start the server.

Method 2: Manual upload via FTP

  1. Subscribe to the scenario on Steam Workshop.

  3. Connect to your server using an FTP client.
  4. Upload the scenario folder to .\Content\Scenarios\ on the server.
  5. Rename the uploaded folder from its Workshop ID to the scenario name.
  6. Log in to the control panel and stop the server.
  7. Click the Configuration Files icon.
  8. Click Config Editor next to dedicated_config.yaml.
  9. Find the Custom Scenario option and set it to the scenario name.
  10. If switching to a new scenario, update the Save Game Name to start a fresh save.
  11. Save the changes to dedicated_config.yaml.
