Add a Custom Workshop Scenario to Your Empyrion Server
Custom scenarios let you run community-made game modes and content on your Empyrion server. You can install them using the built-in Scenario Downloader in the control panel (recommended) or by uploading the files manually via FTP.
Method 1: Scenario Downloader (recommended)
- Log in to the Game Control Panel and navigate to your server.
- Click Stop to stop the server.
- Click the Scenario Downloader icon.
- Enter the Workshop ID of the scenario you want to install.
- Click Run and wait for the download to complete.
- Click the Configuration Files icon.
- Click Config Editor next to
dedicated_config.yaml. - Find the Custom Scenario option and set it to the scenario name.
- If you are switching to a new scenario, update the Save Game Name setting to start a fresh save.
- Save the changes to
dedicated_config.yaml. - Start the server.
Method 2: Manual upload via FTP
- Subscribe to the scenario on Steam Workshop.
- Locate the downloaded scenario folder on your PC. The default path is
C:\Program Files (x86)\steam\steamapps\workshop\content\383120\. - Connect to your server using an FTP client.
- Upload the scenario folder to
.\Content\Scenarios\on the server. - Rename the uploaded folder from its Workshop ID to the scenario name.
- Log in to the control panel and stop the server.
- Click the Configuration Files icon.
- Click Config Editor next to
dedicated_config.yaml. - Find the Custom Scenario option and set it to the scenario name.
- If switching to a new scenario, update the Save Game Name to start a fresh save.
- Save the changes to
dedicated_config.yaml. - Start the server.
