How to Reinstall Your Dark and Light Server

Reinstalling your Dark and Light server resets it to the same default state it was in when you first received it. This is useful for resolving persistent issues that cannot be fixed through normal troubleshooting.

Before you start: All server files will be deleted during reinstallation, except backups. Download any files you want to keep via FTP before proceeding.

Reinstall the server

  1. Log in to the Game Control Panel and navigate to your Dark and Light server.
  2. Stop the server if it is running.
  3. Click the More button.

  4. Click Reinstall.

  5. Click the Reinstall button on the confirmation screen. Keep the Default values option selected unless you have a specific reason to change it.

The panel will delete all current server files, download a fresh copy of the Dark and Light server files, and install a default configuration. This process may take several minutes depending on file size.

Once complete, your server will be ready to start with a clean installation.

Troubleshooting

If the reinstall process stalls or does not complete, wait a few minutes and refresh the panel before attempting again. If problems persist, submit a support ticket and the Host Havoc support team will assist you. You can also change the world map after reinstalling to configure your preferred map before starting the server.
