How to Configure the Purge on Your Conan Exiles Server

Published June 9, 2026 · By Host Havoc Technical Support Team

The Purge is Conan Exiles' late-game NPC raid mechanic -- waves of hostile NPCs attack player bases once players accumulate enough activity. You can tune when it happens, how hard it is, or disable it entirely.

The Purge timing settings work alongside game rate adjustments and the day length settings for consistent event timing.

Steps

  1. Log into the Game Control Panel and navigate to your Conan Exiles service.
  2. Stop the server.
  3. Click Configuration Files, then open ServerSettings.ini in the Config Editor.
  4. Configure the settings below.
  5. Click Save and start the server.

Difficulty Scaling

Purge tier scales automatically with the player or clan's level and activity. Even at the maximum Purge level setting, low-activity players only receive tier-1 Purges. The difficulty cap is a ceiling, not a floor.

Tips

  • PvP servers: Raise Purge difficulty to keep raiding pressure high.
  • No-Purge servers: Set Enable Purge = False.
  • Set restricted hours to prevent overnight Purges from destroying offline players' bases.
