How to Reinstall Your Insurgency: Sandstorm Server
Reinstalling your Insurgency: Sandstorm server deletes all current server files and downloads a fresh copy of the game server, returning it to the default state it was in when you first set it up. Use this when your server is broken and other troubleshooting steps have not resolved the issue.
If you only need to fix a configuration problem, consider editing your config files via FTP before doing a full reinstall.
Warning: All server files will be deleted (except backups). Download any files you want to keep before proceeding.
Reinstall steps
- Log in to the Game Control Panel and navigate to your server.
- Stop your server.
- Click the More button.
- Click Reinstall.
- On the confirmation screen, click the Reinstall button. Keep the Default values option selected unless you have a specific reason to change it.
The panel will delete your existing server files, download a new copy of the game server files, and install a default configuration. This may take several minutes depending on the size of the game files.
Once complete, your server will be ready to start with a fresh installation.
Troubleshooting
- Reinstall taking a long time: This is normal for larger games. Wait for the process to finish before attempting to start the server.
- Server not starting after reinstall: Confirm your GSLT is configured in the Commandline Manager.
- Still having issues: Submit a support ticket and the Host Havoc support team will assist you.
