How to Set Up Automatic Restarts for Your DeadPoly Server

Updated 10 June 2026 · By Host Havoc Technical Support Team

Scheduling automatic restarts keeps your DeadPoly server healthy by clearing memory buildup and applying pending updates on a regular cycle. You configure this through the Scheduled Tasks feature in the game panel.

For save integrity, pair automatic restarts with the save management steps in how to restore a save if you ever need to recover from a save issue after a restart.

Create a scheduled restart

  1. Log in to the Game Control Panel and navigate to your server.
  2. Click the Scheduled Tasks icon on the left-hand side.
  3. Click New at the top of the section and choose Scheduled Start/Stop/Restart, then click New directly below that section.
  4. Give the task a name that lets you identify it quickly.
  5. Make sure the Enabled checkbox is checked.
  6. Set the type to Daily to restart at the same time each day.
  7. Set the start date and time. The time is based on the panel's time zone. To align it with your local time zone, refer to the time zone article.
  8. Click Save.

Additional options such as action type and waiting until the server is empty are available under Advanced Options.

Repeat every few hours

To restart every 6 hours within a 24-hour period, enable the Repeat Task option and configure the interval. Set the initial time and the repeat frequency so the panel fires the restart at each interval throughout the day.

Troubleshooting

  • Task not firing: Confirm the Enabled checkbox is checked and that the start time has not already passed without the repeat option set.
  • Restarts at wrong time: Check your time zone offset against the panel's time zone using the linked article above.
