How to Delete a Player from Your 7 Days to Die Server

Deleting a player removes their data from your server, including their character, inventory, and position. You will need access to the server files via the File Manager or FTP.

Steps to Delete a Player

  1. Log in to your Game Control Panel.
  2. Open the File Manager or connect via FTP.
  3. Navigate to the player save folder:
    • On server versions below 1.0: open the 7dtdsaves folder.
    • On server version 1.0 and above: open /userdata/Saves/.
  4. Open the folder for your current world, then open the folder that matches your current save name.
  5. Open players.xml and find the entry for the player you want to remove. Copy the value in the userid= field on their line.
  6. Navigate back to the save folder and open the Player folder.
  7. Find the three files that share the player ID you copied in step 5. Delete all three files.

    Tip: If you are using the File Manager, press Ctrl+F and paste the player ID to highlight the matching files quickly.

  8. Start your server.

Note: The player's data is permanently deleted. This action cannot be undone. Make a backup before proceeding if you are unsure.
