Best Breeding Combos in Palworld 1.0 (Verified Combos and Breeding Order)

Most of the best Pals in Palworld 1.0 come from one short breeding chain. Relaxaurus becomes Relaxaurus Lux, then Jormuntide, then Jormuntide Ignis, and Jormuntide Ignis is a parent for most of the top workers, fighters and mounts in the game.
We checked every combo on this page against our Palworld breeding calculator, which uses the 1.0 game data, and against other 1.0 databases. Some combos from older guides no longer work, so those are listed near the end.
Before you start
The Breeding Farm unlocks at around level 19. You put a male and a female Pal in it, plus Cake in the farm's box. Regular Cake takes Flour, Red Berries, Milk, Eggs and Honey.
1.0 added four new cakes that change what comes out of the egg:

For the chain below you'll also need a Relaxaurus, a Sparkit, a Blazamut and a Blazehowl.
The core chain
Breed these three first. Almost every other Pal on this page has one of them as a parent.

Jormuntide Ignis has only two parent combos in 1.0: Jormuntide + Blazehowl, or two Jormuntide Ignis. So you can't skip the Blazehowl.

Solenne needs a Flaracle and Ophydia needs a Renjishi, so breed those first.

Anubis and Renjishi are good in a fight too, so they earn a party slot when they're not working your base.
Best combos for mounts

You need to unlock each mount's saddle before you can ride it.
Longer chain: Celesdir for wood
Celesdir has Lumbering 7, so it's a strong worker for wood and Hardwood. Getting it takes five steps:
- Incineram + Tetroise = Helzephyr
- Helzephyr + Jormuntide = Frostplume
- Beakon + Frostplume = Beakon Cryst
- Beakon Cryst + Sekhmet = Gildane
- Gildane + Eikthyrdeer Terra = Celesdir

- Jormuntide Ignis
- Anubis
- Flaracle and Renjishi
- Solenne and Ophydia
- Dynamoff, Sekhmet or Venusa, depending on what your base needs
- Eidrolon, once you have Anubis
- The Celesdir chain, if you want a dedicated wood worker
Combos from older guides that changed
If you're following a guide written before 1.0, two common combos no longer work:
- Jormuntide + Suzaku now gives Suzaku Aqua, not Jormuntide Ignis. Use Jormuntide + Blazehowl.
- Croajiro + Relaxaurus Lux no longer gives Beakon. Use Dumud + Relaxaurus.

What are the best Pals to breed early?
Start with Relaxaurus Lux, Jormuntide and Jormuntide Ignis, then Anubis. For an early flying mount, Dumud + Relaxaurus gives you Beakon without anything else from the chain.
Do old breeding combos still work in 1.0?
Most do, but some changed. Jormuntide + Suzaku and Croajiro + Relaxaurus Lux are two common ones. Check a combo in our breeding calculator before you breed it.
Can I make eggs hatch faster?
On your own dedicated server, yes. Egg hatching time is the PalEggDefaultHatchingTime server setting, so you can lower it for your group. With Palworld server hosting from Host Havoc, you change it from the control panel.
