How to Join Your Sons of the Forest Server

Joining your Sons of the Forest dedicated server takes just a few steps once your server is online and named.

Before you start: Make sure your server is running. If you have not already set a recognizable name, follow the guide to change your server name so it is easy to find in the server list.

Join via the in-game server browser

  1. Launch Sons of the Forest.
  2. Click Multiplayer on the main menu, then click Join.
  3. Under the Source section, click the right arrow until it shows Dedicated.
  4. Search for your server name in the search field.
  5. Click your server in the results, then click Join.

Troubleshooting

  • Server not appearing: Confirm the server is started in the Game Control Panel and allow up to two minutes for it to appear in the list.
  • Server has a password: You will be prompted to enter the password after clicking Join. See set a server password if you need to add or change it.
