Reinstall Your Rust Server

Reinstalling your server removes all current server files (except backups) and re-downloads a fresh default setup. This is useful if your server files have become corrupted or you want a completely clean start. If you only want to reset player data and the map, use Wipe Server instead.

Warning: Reinstalling deletes all server files except backups. This action cannot be undone.

Steps

1. Log into the Game Control Panel.
2. Navigate to your Rust server.
3. Stop the server.
4. Click the ...More button (to the right of the Start/Stop/Restart buttons).
   
5. Click Reinstall.
6. Click the Reinstall confirmation button. Leave Default values selected unless you have a specific reason to change it.
   

Note: The reinstall process may take up to 20 minutes depending on the size of the game files.
