Join Your Minecraft Java Edition Server

Once your server is running, you can connect to it directly from the Minecraft Launcher. Your server's IP address and port are shown in the Minecraft panel.

Before you start: Make sure your server is online and that your Minecraft client version matches the server version.

Open Minecraft

  1. Launch the Minecraft Launcher.
  2. Select Minecraft Java Edition.
  3. Choose the version that matches your server, then click Play.

Add your server

  1. On the main menu, click Multiplayer.
  2. Click Add Server.
  3. Enter a name for the server in the Server Name field.
  4. Enter your server's IP and port in the Server Address field, formatted as IP:Port (for example, 192.101.54.22:25565).
    • Find your IP and port on your server's overview page in the Minecraft panel.
  5. Click Done.

Connect

  1. Select your server from the list.
  2. Click Join Server.
