How to Change Your DeadPoly Server Name

Giving your DeadPoly server a custom name makes it easier for players to find it in the server browser. The steps differ slightly between the current version and the legacy version of the game.

After updating your server name you may also want to set your server to private or add admins to finish configuring access.

Change the server name (current version)

  1. Log in to your Game Control Panel.
  2. Stop your server.
  3. Click Configuration Files and open Game.ini using either the text editor or config editor.
  4. Locate the Server Name field and replace the value inside the quotation marks with your desired name.

  5. Save the file and start your server.

Change the server name (legacy version)

  1. Log in to your Game Control Panel.
  2. Stop your server.
  3. Click Configuration Files and open Engine.ini using either the text editor or config editor.
  4. Locate the Server Name field and replace the value inside the quotation marks with your desired name.
  5. Save the file and start your server.

Troubleshooting

  • Name not updating in the server list: Allow a few minutes after restarting for the change to propagate. Confirm the file was saved before the server started.
  • Quotation marks missing: The name value must remain inside quotes; do not delete the surrounding quotation marks.
