How to Switch Your Server from CS:GO to CS2

If your server was originally provisioned as CS:GO, you can switch it to Counter-Strike 2 directly from the game panel. The process involves a game switch followed by a reinstall to apply the new files.

Before you start: The reinstall step will delete all current server files. Back up any configurations, maps, or plugins you want to keep.

Steps

  1. Log in to the Game Control Panel and navigate to your server.
  2. Stop your server.
  3. Click the Switch to Counter-Strike 2 button on the left-hand side.
  4. Wait for the switch to complete.
  5. Click the More button to the right of the Start/Stop button.
  6. Click Reinstall.
  7. Confirm the reinstall. This will delete all current server files and install a fresh CS2 setup.

Once the reinstall finishes, your server is running Counter-Strike 2. You will need to reconfigure any settings you had previously. See changing your server name and adding a GSLT to get started.
