How to Set Up Automatic Restarts for Your CS2 Server

Published June 9, 2026 · By Host Havoc Technical Support Team

Automatic restarts keep your CS2 server running smoothly by clearing memory and applying any pending updates on a schedule. The Host Havoc game panel handles this through Scheduled Tasks.

Create a scheduled restart

  1. Log in to the Game Control Panel and navigate to your server.
  2. Click the Scheduled Tasks icon on the left-hand side.
  3. Click New at the top of the section and choose Scheduled Start/Stop/Restart.
  4. Click New again directly below that section.
  5. Enter a name for the task so you can identify it later.
  6. Make sure the Enabled checkbox is checked.
  7. Set the type to Daily to restart at the same time each day.
  8. Set the start date and time. This time will repeat every day. To align it with your local timezone, refer to the timezone article linked in your panel settings.
  9. Click Save.

Set up a repeating restart

If you want the server to restart every few hours rather than once a day, check the Repeat Task option in the Advanced Options section and configure the interval. For example, to restart every 6 hours in a 24-hour period, set the repeat interval to 6 hours.

Once saved, the task will run automatically on the defined schedule without any further action needed.
