How to Fix an ARK Server Stuck at 70 Slots
If your ARK: Survival Evolved server keeps reverting to 70 slots instead of your allocated count, it is failing to read your command line or is missing map content. ARK falls back to 70 slots when the command line has a formatting error or the map cannot load. Work through the checks below.
Check the command line
Open the Commandline Manager and review your selected command line for:
- Stray quotation marks inside a parameter.
- Misuse of the total conversion mod parameter. Not every mod is a total conversion, so only use that parameter for mods that are.
- A misspelled map name. A common mistake is a space in
The Island. The correct format isTheIslandwith no space. See loading a map or DLC for the exact map names.
Restore missing mod content
Deleting the default mod content from ShooterGame/Content/Mods stops maps like Scorched Earth, Aberration, and Ragnarok from loading, which also triggers the 70-slot fallback. If you removed those files, force a file validation to download them again, then restart.
