How to Use an FTP Client With Your ARK Server

An FTP client gives you fast, bulk access to your ARK: Survival Evolved server's files, which is far quicker than the web File Manager for large folders. It is the fastest way to reset your saved data or pull a backup. We recommend FileZilla.

Before you start: Download FileZilla from the official FileZilla project site. Avoid bundled installers from other sources.

Connect with FileZilla

  1. Log into the game panel and open your ARK service.
  2. Find the FTP Info box near the middle of the page and copy the IP and port (for example 167.114.172.201:8821) into FileZilla's Host field.
  3. Enter your control panel username and password in FileZilla's Username and Password fields. You can change this password in the panel.
  4. The Port auto-fills to the correct value (8821) when you paste the FTP info correctly.
  5. Click Quickconnect.

Note: If the panel shows SFTP Info instead of FTP Info, add sftp:// in front of the address, for example sftp://167.114.172.201:8821.
