How to Set Up Automatic Restarts for Your Abiotic Factor Server
Scheduling automatic restarts keeps your Abiotic Factor server healthy by clearing memory and applying any pending updates on a regular cycle. You can create a restart schedule using the Scheduled Tasks feature in the Game Control Panel.
For other configuration options, see Edit Settings on Your Abiotic Factor Server.
Create a scheduled restart
- Log in to the Game Control Panel.
- Navigate to your server.
- Click the Scheduled Tasks icon on the left-hand side.
- Click New at the top of the section and choose Scheduled Start/Stop/Restart.
- Click New directly below that section.
- Give the task a descriptive name and make sure the Enabled checkbox is checked.
- Set the type to Daily if you want the restart to happen at the same time each day.
- Set the start date and time. This is the time the restart will occur every day.
- Click Save.
Before you start: The time is based on the Game Control Panel timezone. If you need to adjust it to match your local time, see the timezone article in the control panel knowledgebase.
Repeat restarts within a day
If you want the server to restart every few hours (for example, every 6 hours), expand Advanced Options and enable Repeat Task. Set the interval to match your preferred schedule.
Troubleshooting
- If the task does not fire, confirm the Enabled checkbox was saved correctly by reopening the task.
- Check that the server is not already stopped at the scheduled time, as a stop/start task requires the server to be in a running state.
