How to Reinstall Your Wreckfest Server

Reinstalling your Wreckfest server deletes all current server files (except saved backups) and re-downloads a clean default installation. This is useful when the server fails to start after an update or when files have become corrupted.

Before you start: Reinstalling removes all custom configuration files, including server_config.cfg. If you have made changes you want to keep, download them via FTP before proceeding.

Reinstall steps

  1. Log into the Game Control Panel and navigate to your server.
  2. Stop your server.
  3. Click the [...More] button to the right of the start, stop, and restart buttons.

  4. Click Reinstall.
  5. Click the Reinstall button on the confirmation screen. Leave the option set to Default values unless you have a specific reason to change it.

The reinstall process can take up to 20 minutes depending on the size of the game files. Do not start the server until the process completes.

Troubleshooting

The server still does not start after reinstalling. Try running force file validation or contact Host Havoc support if the issue persists. If the problem began after a game update, the update itself may contain a bug and you may need to wait for a patch.
