How to Set Up Automatic Restarts on Your Wreckfest Server

Updated 10 June 2026 · By Host Havoc Technical Support Team

Automatic restarts keep your Wreckfest server stable by clearing memory and applying any pending updates on a schedule. You configure them through the Scheduled Tasks section of the Host Havoc Game Control Panel.

Before setting a restart schedule, make sure you have connected to your server at least once. You may also want to review how to connect via FTP to back up any custom configs beforehand.

Create a scheduled restart

  1. Log into the Game Control Panel and navigate to your server.
  2. Click the Scheduled Tasks icon in the left-hand menu.
  3. Click New at the top of the section and choose Scheduled Start/Stop/Restart, then click New directly below that section.
  4. Enter a descriptive name for the task so you can identify it later.
  5. Check the Enabled box.
  6. Set Type to Daily to run the restart at the same time each day.
  7. Set the start date and time. The time is based on the panel's time zone. If you need to adjust for your local time, refer to the time zone article in the panel help section.
  8. Click Save.

Repeat every few hours

If you want the server to restart multiple times per day (for example, every 6 hours), expand the Advanced Options section and enable Repeat Task, then set the repeat interval. The task will run starting at your configured time and repeat at that interval throughout the day.

Troubleshooting

The restart is not occurring at the expected time. Check whether the panel time zone matches your local time zone. The scheduled time is always interpreted in the panel's configured time zone, not your browser's local time.

The task is listed but does nothing. Confirm the Enabled box is checked and that the task type is set to Scheduled Start/Stop/Restart, not a different task type.
