How to Set Up Automatic Restarts for Your Windrose Server

Updated 10 June 2026 · By Host Havoc Technical Support Team

Scheduling automatic restarts keeps your Windrose server running smoothly and clears any accumulated memory issues. The game panel's Scheduled Tasks feature lets you set restarts on a daily schedule or at a custom repeat interval.

Before you start, make sure you can join your server after a restart to confirm the task is working correctly.

Create a scheduled restart task

  1. Log in to the Game Control Panel and navigate to your server.
  2. Click the Scheduled Tasks icon on the left-hand side.
  3. Click New at the top of the section and choose Scheduled Start/Stop/Restart, then click New directly below that section.
  4. Enter a name that makes the task easy to identify, and make sure the Enabled checkbox is checked.
  5. Set the type to Daily if you want the restart to occur at the same time every day.
  6. Set the start date and time. This is the time the restart will occur each day. To align this with your local time zone, refer to the game panel time zone article.
  7. Click Save.

Repeat every few hours

If you want the server to restart multiple times per day (for example, every 6 hours), check the Repeat Task option and configure the repeat interval in the Advanced Options section. Additional advanced options include choosing the action type and waiting until the server is empty before restarting.

Troubleshooting

If the restart task does not appear to be running, confirm the Enabled box is checked and that the scheduled time has not already passed for the current day. If your server fails to come back online after a restart, see how to reinstall your server to reset to a clean state.
