How to Reinstall Your Starbound Server

Reinstalling your Starbound server removes all current server files (except backups) and redownloads a fresh default setup. Use this to fix corrupted files or start fresh.

Before you start: Reinstalling is irreversible. Any custom configuration or world files not covered by a backup will be lost. Consider reviewing how to configure your server settings after reinstalling.

Reinstall your server

  1. Log in to the Game Control Panel and navigate to your Starbound server.
  2. Stop your server using the Stop button.
  3. Click the ...More button to the right of the Start/Stop/Restart buttons.

  4. Click Reinstall.
  5. Click the Reinstall button to confirm. It is recommended to leave the Default values option selected.

The reinstall process may take up to 20 minutes depending on the size of the game files. Once complete, your server will be ready to start.

Troubleshooting

If the reinstall does not resolve your issue, check the server console for error messages or contact Host Havoc support.
