How to Set Up Automatic Restarts for Your Starbound Server

Updated 10 June 2026 · By Host Havoc Technical Support Team

The Scheduled Tasks feature in the Host Havoc game control panel lets you schedule automatic restarts for your Starbound server on a daily or repeating basis.

Set up a scheduled restart

  1. Log in to the Game Control Panel and navigate to your Starbound server.
  2. Click the Scheduled Tasks icon in the left-hand menu.
  3. Click New at the top of the section and choose Scheduled Start/Stop/Restart, then click New directly below that section.
  4. Give the task a descriptive name so you can identify it easily, and make sure the Enabled box is checked.
  5. Set the Type to Daily if you want the restart to occur at the same time each day.
  6. Set the start date and time. This will be the time the restart runs every day. To ensure the schedule matches your time zone, refer to the time zone article in the control panel guides.
  7. Click Save.

Repeating restarts: To restart every 6 hours within a 24-hour period, enable the Repeat Task option and configure the interval accordingly.

You can create multiple scheduled tasks to cover different intervals. See how to configure your server settings if you want to adjust server behaviour between restarts.

Troubleshooting

If a scheduled task does not trigger, confirm the Enabled checkbox is checked and that the start date is not set in the past.
