Fix: Space Engineers Server Not Reading the Configuration File

If your Space Engineers server is no longer reading its configuration file, it is usually caused by a save folder path issue. This guide shows you how to resolve it.

Steps

  1. Stop your server.
  2. In Configuration Files, open SpaceEngineers-Dedicated.cfg in the Config Editor and update the World Name field to a new (different) save name.
  3. Using File Manager or an FTP client, copy all files from your previous save folder into a new folder with the name you entered in Step 2. The save folders are located at ServerSaveData\Saves\.
  4. Delete or rename the original save folder.
  5. Save your configuration changes and start your server.

The server will now read from the new folder and should pick up the configuration file correctly.
