Change Your Rust Server's Hostname

Your server's hostname is the display name that appears in the Rust in-game server browser. Keep it under 40 characters and avoid special characters to ensure it shows correctly. For other server browser settings, see Add Server Tags.

Steps

  1. Log into the Game Control Panel and view your Rust server.
  2. Click Configuration Files.
  3. Click Config Editor beside server.cfg.
  4. Locate the Hostname field.
  5. Enter your new hostname.
  6. Click Save and exit the config.
  7. Restart your server for the change to take effect.
