How to Reinstall Your Mordhau Server

Reinstalling your Mordhau server wipes all current server files and replaces them with a fresh default installation, just as it was when you first set up the service. This is useful when troubleshooting persistent issues that cannot be resolved by editing configuration files.

Before reinstalling, consider downloading any files you want to keep via the FTP client. Backups are not deleted during reinstallation.

Before you start: All server files will be permanently deleted (except backups). Download anything you want to keep before proceeding.

Reinstall the server

  1. Log in to the Game Control Panel and navigate to your server.
  2. Stop your server.
  3. Click the More button.

  4. Click Reinstall.

  5. On the confirmation screen, click the Reinstall button. Keep Default values selected unless you have a specific reason to change it.

The panel will delete all existing files, download a fresh copy of the Mordhau server files, and complete a default installation. This process can take several minutes depending on file size. Wait for it to complete before starting your server.

Troubleshooting

  • If the reinstall appears to stall, wait a few extra minutes before refreshing the panel. Large game files take time to download.
  • If you need to restore a previous state after reinstalling, use the automatic restarts schedule combined with regular backups to keep a recoverable snapshot going forward.
