About Mordhau: First-person medieval melee for up to 64 players
Mordhau is a multiplayer medieval combat game from Triternion, released in 2019. Fights come down to footwork, feints, and swing timing, while horses, archers, and siege engines fill out the large Frontline and Invasion battles. Smaller modes such as Duel, Skirmish, and Horde suit tighter groups. A dedicated server lets your community keep its own maps, rules, and admins instead of depending on whichever public servers happen to be up.
Game.ini and tick rate control
Mordhau server settings live in Game.ini: server name, join password, admin password, player slots, and the map rotation used for the end-of-match vote. The same file tunes respawn timers, damage, and friendly fire. Tick rate is set in Engine.ini. Edit both from the control panel's configuration file editor or over FTP, then restart to apply.
Mod.io mods and custom maps
Mordhau uses Mod.io for mods, not Steam Workshop. Add each mod's numeric ID to Game.ini and the server downloads it on the next start. Custom maps join your rotation by their internal map name. Every server includes DDoS protection and 24/7 support.

The manual way: self-hosting
Mordhau's dedicated server from Triternion runs natively on Windows and Linux. It is CPU-bound and leans on single-core speed, so plan for a high-clock CPU and 4 to 8 GB of RAM for a full 64-player Frontline server. No GPU needed.
- Download the server with SteamCMD using the anonymous login and Steam App ID

7777(game),15000(beacon), and27015(query) on your router and firewall. - Keep it running as a Windows service, or in screen/tmux on Linux, with scheduled restarts.
After that it is on you: patching on every Triternion update, backing up your config files, restarting after crashes, and absorbing DDoS yourself.
