How to Change Your Hytale Server Name and Password

You can update your Hytale server name and password directly through the Config Editor in the Host Havoc game panel. Both settings live in config.json and take effect when the server next starts.

Before you start: Stop your server before editing configuration files to avoid conflicts.

  1. Log in to the Game Control Panel and navigate to your server.
  2. Stop your server if it is running.
  3. Click the Configuration Files option.
  4. Click the Config Editor icon for config.json.
  5. To change the server name, edit the Server Name field.
  6. To set or change the server password, edit the Server Password field. Leave this blank to allow open access.
  7. Click Save.

Start your server. Players will see the updated name in the server browser, and the password will be required on the next join attempt.
