How to Change Your Counter-Strike 2 Server Name

Your server name (hostname) is what players see in the CS2 server browser. You can change it at any time by editing server.cfg.

Steps

  1. Log in to the Game Control Panel and navigate to your server.
  2. Stop your server.
  3. Click the Configuration Files icon.
  4. Locate server.cfg and click the text editor option.
  5. Find the hostname setting and update the value to your desired server name:
    hostname "My CS2 Server"
  6. Click Save.

Restart your server. The new name will appear in the server browser and in the scoreboard. If you also want to set a join password or RCON password, see setting passwords.
