How to Manually Save Your Terraria Server

Updated June 10, 2026 · By Host Havoc Technical Support Team

The Terraria server's default web console does not accept typed input, so you cannot run a manual save command without first installing TShock.

Before you start: TShock must be installed on your server to send console commands. See Install tModLoader Mods if you also want to run mods alongside TShock.

Install TShock and save the server

  1. Log into the Game Control Panel and navigate to your server.
  2. Click the Non-Workshop Mods icon.
  3. Find TShock in the list and click Install.
  4. Start your server and follow the TShock setup instructions that appear in the Web Console.
  5. Once TShock is running, open the Web Console in your panel.
  6. Type save and press Enter to manually save the world.

Troubleshooting

If the console does not accept input after TShock is installed, confirm the server has fully started and TShock initialisation is complete before sending commands.
