Oxide/uMod Not Loading on Your Rust Server
If uMod/Oxide is not loading after server start, the most common causes are a corrupted install or mismatched server files. Follow these steps to resolve the issue. If you need to install uMod from scratch, see Install uMod/Oxide.
Reinstall uMod/Oxide
- Log into the Game Control Panel.
- Click Non-Workshop Mods.
- Uninstall uMod/Oxide, then reinstall it using the same button.
- Start the server and check whether Oxide loads.
Force-validate server files
If reinstalling Oxide alone does not fix the issue, validate the underlying server files:
- Open the File Manager in your control panel.
- Select and delete the
steamappsfolder. - Run the Steam Update script from the control panel.
- The files will validate and re-download any corrupted or missing data.
- Start your server and confirm Oxide loads.
